Nirmala Sitharaman, India’s Finance Minister, will introduce the Union Budget 2023-24 on February 1, 2023 (Wednesday) as part of the Parliament’s Budget session. The Budget speech of the FM is expected to start at around 11 am. It’s anticipated that the Budget address would last about two hours.

The Parliament’s Budget session will commence on January 31, 2023, and end on April 6, 2023.

Union Budget 2023-24

Union Budget 2023-24 will be Sitharaman’s fifth straight budget for the fiscal year beginning April 1. The Union Budget 2023-24 will be delivered in paperless form like the previous two Budgets. This will be the last full Budget of the second Narendra Modi government ahead of the general elections in 2024. The Union Budget 2023-24 is expected to be populist in nature while also focusing on fiscal consolidation as it is being presented a year ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

All the 14 Union Budget documents, including the Annual Financial Statement (commonly known as Budget), Demand for Grants (DG), Finance Bill, etc. as prescribed by the Constitution, will be available on the “Union Budget Mobile App” for hassle-free access of Budget documents by Members of Parliament (MPs) and the general public using the simplest form of digital convenience, the finance ministry had said in a statement earlier.

It is bilingual (English & Hindi) and will be available on both Android and iOS platforms. The App can also be downloaded from the Union Budget Web Portal (, the finance ministry had said.

The Budget documents will be available on the Mobile App after the completion of the Budget Speech by the Finance Minister in Parliament on February 1, 2023.
