JAIPUR: An aircraft crashed in an isolated open area in a hamlet situated under Ucchain police station area of Bharatpur district of Rajasthan on Saturday morning. No civil casualties have been reported by the local administration and police so far. However, the police said that it is not yet clear whether it was a chopper or a fighter plane of the Indian Air Force.

Alok Ranjan, district collector, Bharatpur and Shyam Singh, Superintendent of police also rushed to the spot after the information of plane crash reached them at 10.15 am.

“It is an aircraft but after seeing the debris we are unable to predict whether it is a fighter jet or a chopper of the Indian Air force. Defence teams are on the way and they will be reaching here to give us the final update on this,” Alok Ranjan, district collector, Bharatpur told TOI from the spot where the debris of fire engulfed aircraft had fallen.

He further stated that debris fell in an open field in an hamlet under Ucchain police station area no human casualties were found.

Also the defence team arrived at the spot for the examination of the debris at the spot.
